The markets performed well today with oil & gas being the lead gainer. The Sensex closed at 17211 (provisional), up 134 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5203 (provisional), up 45 points. The CNX Midcap index was up 0.6% and the BSE Smallcap index gained 1.2%.
